Going back thousands of years ago, there’s always been grave conflict between Israel and the Palestine. After all, Israel is the only state that belongs to the Jewish people and rightly so!
The Palestinian people have been fighting to gain control of Jewish territory since Biblical days and in doing, many war crimes against the Jewish people have been committed. That’s why it’s crucial to have human right’s groups advancing the cause of peace, justice and liberty for Israeli citizens.
Christian Peacemaker Teams is an organization that has been notably recognized for their efforts in bringing non-violent people together that usher in the eradication of oppression, turmoil and destruction.
CPT coalesces with other human rights groups with similar convictions globally and seeks members of many different nationalities to bring about a better sense of cultural understanding. This facilitates peaceful solutions to intolerant aggression between races.
When peacemaking groups request the assistance and amalgamation of the CPT to bring about change in a tumultuous circumstance or region, a series of strategical non-violent methods are employed and customized to the situation at hand.
There are inumerous ways of accomplishing these methods, but they fit into the general areas of protest, intervention and persuasion without physical confrontation. If protests are being used in engagement, mass marches, sit-ins, intelligence talks and vigils are common variations of protest demonstrations. The purpose is to bring full disclosure of those involved so as to dispel any wrong minded thinking. CPT uses these tools when confronting more trivial matters. When groups come together and join resources, stronger action can be taken to stop corruption. One of the most effective contributions to any campaign or organization is capital funding. The Frontera Fund that was allocated by reporters Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey has been a laudable resource for many injustices for people who’ve been discriminated against.
Originally having been established to assist the Hispanic immigrant population in Arizona the Frontera Fund has now outreached to a wide range of organizations such as the Owl and Panther Hopi Foundation.Without the generous contributions of the Frontera Fund many discrimination’s and abuses would never be compensated for.
Having a sympathetic heart for underprivileged and wronged lives, Larkin and Lacey seek to make a tangible difference for the betterment of society. Michael and Jim know this well after their own battle facing wrongful imprisonment by Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The experience they faced finding resources to expose corruption was the premise for creating the Frontera Fund. After much red tape and harassment, the two journalists were released from jail and a legal battle was initiated against the sheriff’s misconduct.
The courts favored on their side, awarding them a 3.7 million dollar settlement as it was concluded Arpaio did not act within the mandated legal means when he arrested them and confiscated proof of financial misgivings in the department itself.
